The Seven Laws of the Universe

by Linda Eschler, Gulfport MS

The Law of Perpetual Transmutation- Energy moves into physical form. The images you hold in your mind most often materialize in results in your life.

The Law of Relativity- Nothing is good or bad, big or small... until you RELATE it to something.

The Law of Polarity- Everything has an opposite: Hot - Cold ... Up - Down ... Good - Bad. Constantly look for the good in people and situations. When you find it, tell the person. People love compliments and notice how much better you feel when you give a compliment.

The Law of Rhythm- The tide goes out ... night follows day ... Joy – Woe.  If there were no downs, there could be no ups.

The Law of Cause and Effect- Whatever you send into the Universe comes back. Action -- re-action are equal and opposite. Treat everyone with total respect and it will all come back.

The Law of Gender- Every seed has a gestation or incubation period. Ideas are spiritual seeds and will move into form or physical results. When the time is right, your goals will manifest.

The Law of Vibration and Attraction- Everything vibrates, nothing rests. Conscious awareness of vibration is called feeling. Your thoughts control your paradigms and your vibration (which dictates what you attract). When you’re feeling bad, become aware of what you are thinking, then think of something pleasant.

The Law of Attraction

I believe I have read most of the books on the Law of Attraction and though that doesn’t make me an expert, it does cause me to be aware of my thoughts most of the time.  I know that what goes around comes around, what you do to others, you do to yourself and that like attracts like, but it took me many years to learn this because I wasn’t always so open to it.

I believe our bodies are a clothing for our soul and that the only reason we have them is to be able to experience human emotions like joy and woe. William Blake wrote about this in Auguries of Innocence. Man was made for Joy and Woe and when this we rightly know, through the world we safely go.  Joy and Woe are woven fine, a clothing for the soul Divine. I believe that as long as we have this human body, we will experience joy and woe, happiness and sadness, ups and downs, but the secret to being happy is to try and choose the joy, the happiness and the ups as often as possible.  We are here to have fun, to learn, to grow, to love and to be happy so why should we suffer any more than we choose to and that’s right, there are those that simply choose to suffer.  Now I’m not saying you will be happy every single second because there are circumstances in our lives that cause us to be sad or angry or hurt; what I’m saying is that when these circumstances occur, we can try and look for the light.  Know that all things happen for a reason, even death, but we do have the ability to choose how long we will allow ourselves to grieve and accept the fact that this person we love has left his joy and woe behind and is simply experiencing joy; and though we will miss them terribly, we must move on with our lives and know that we will someday be together again in spirit.

We have so much more control over our bodies and thoughts than we sometimes realize.  We can choose our thoughts; we can choose peace over fighting.  Mother Theresa would never accept an invitation to a rally against war; however she would accept an invitation to a rally for peace.  Dr. Wayne Dyer said that “On a Round Planet … There are no choosing sides.”

I always try to focus on what I want, not what I don’t want because you always get more of what you think about.  Control your thoughts … control your reality … control your life.

Metaphysics refers to the branch of philosophy that attempts to understand the fundamental nature of all reality, whether physical or non-physical. It seeks a description so basic, so essentially simple, and so all-inclusive, that it applies to everything.  It is not a science; however, the science most closely related to Metaphysics is Quantum Physics

Quantum physics - The “physics of possibilities”. Quantum physics is the leading edge science that is scientifically proving timeless metaphysical principles. It is believed that quantum physics is where metaphysics and physics will merge. It is believed that the word “metaphysics” is based on the organization of some of Aristotle’s books in the Library of Alexandria. The ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle produced a number of works, which together were called the “Physics.” In the Library of Alexandria, the works of Aristotle were organized in such a way that another set of Aristotle’s works was placed right after the “Physics.” These books seemed to concern a basic, fundamental area of philosophical inquiry, which Aristotle, himself, called “first philosophy.” So early Aristotelian scholars called those books ta meta ta physika biblia, which means “the books that come after the (books about) physics.” This is simply where the word came from.

Metaphysician - Someone who studies the true nature of reality, or someone who is simply interested in discovering what underlies everything.

Spirituality - The process of becoming closer to the God within you. Spirituality is all about becoming closer to your soul. Metaphysics is very closely related to spirituality, but it has nothing to do with any religion. It is more to develop your own set of personal beliefs.

Meditation - The word “meditation” is a noun that is based on the root word “med.” “Med” means “to attend to.” When a word ends in “tion,” this means “the condition of.” Thus, meditation means the condition of paying attention. Anything that we pay attention to is a form of meditation; however, in spiritual sciences, meditation refers to the process of paying attention to a specific object supportive of the goal of self-transformation. The most common objects are the breath and a mantra.

The History of Meditation:

The science of meditation flows from the beginning of human existence. This ageless, timeless science will help you have the mental clarity and emotional stability necessary to reconcile with your individual spirituality. World history tells us that ancient civilizations lived in and around the foothills of the Himalayan mountains. The mantras used in authentic meditative traditions come from the original languages that existed before the Tower of Babel and the onset of confused tongues.

Mantra - A sacred awakened sound that guides and protects each individual.  The word Mantra is composed of two words: “man” (human beings) and “tra” (that which guides and protects). What do we really need guidance and protection from? Our own mind --- its impulses, confusions, distortions, and deletions. Mantra meditation helps open us to clarity and the fruits of our individual spirituality.
